REC 1
(Grades K-2)
Our Rec 1 program introduces players in Kindergarten through Grade 2 to the basics of competitive soccer. Teams train one evening during the week (usually at 5 or 6 pm) with their volunteer coach, and participate in games against another Rec 1 team on Saturdays. Teams play 4v4 with no goalkeeper.
Teams are formed within the following Towns of Play:
Practices are held within your team's Town of Play (e.g., an Ashburn team will train at an Ashburn site). Game locations may require additional travel within the county. Rec 1 teams also participate in the Spring Jamboree and Fall Festival each year.
VOLUNTEER COACHES: Teams are led by volunteer coaches. Enthusiastic and committed leaders are needed to oversee our Recreational teams on a seasonal basis (Fall and/or Spring), either as a Head Coach or as an Assistant Coach. While most of our volunteer coaches are parents coaching their child’s team, anyone can also volunteer to give back to the game and to their community.
UNIFORMS: Rec 1 players purchase a uniform kit consisting of a red jersey and a white jersey and black shorts, which can be purchased online from our uniform vendor. For more information, visit our Uniform page.
