Deadline is Friday, February 28, 2025
The United Soccer League (USL) is the largest and fastest-growing professional soccer organization in North America, with over a decade of experience bringing the world's game to communities across the United States and Canada.
The USL oversees three men's leagues (USL Championship, USL League One, USL League Two), two women's leagues (USL Super League, USL-W League), and elite player development platform (USL Academy), and a national youth platform (USL-Y League).
The league is committed to providing players with opportunities to develop their technical and tactical skills during the summer while exposing them to new pathways and competitive experiences that enhance their growth in the game.
ABOUT LOUDOUN SOCCER USL-Y
The USL-Y league provides continued player development opportunities and competition for Travel players over the summer. This program is open to NVA and Loudoun Soccer Travel players, as well as Travel players from other clubs.
The USL-Y season typically runs regionally from mid-June through mid-August. Because it is a national competition, successful regional teams may be advance to the Northern American Finals in Florida in mid-December.
Teams practice twice each week, and play 6-8 league games, both during the week and on weekends.

Loudoun Soccer does not conduct traditional tryouts; instead, players are invited to complete our Interest Form. The
head coach of each team carefully evaluates the submitted information and selects players based on their skills, experience, and team needs. This process ensures a more personalized and thorough assessment, allowing us to build competitive and well-balanced teams.
The season will be approximately 6-8 weeks in June and July. Teams who qualify for the National event will attend a 3-4 day event in Tampa, Florida in December 2025.
Teams will train on average twice per week, over a 6-8 week period in June and July, with training sessions held at Loudoun Soccer Park and Bolen Park.
As part of the Mid-Atlantic Division, games are projected to begin in the first or second week of June and will run throughout July, with some games potentially extending into the first weekend of August due to weather-related delays or other unforeseen
circumstances.
This schedule ensures that players have ample opportunities to compete, develop, and gain valuable experience throughout the summer season.
7v7 teams: 12+ players
9v9 teams: 14+ players
11v11 teams: 18+ players
To ensure a consistent number of players at practices and games throughout the summer—considering family
commitments—we expand rosters beyond the usual size. This approach allows for flexibility and continuity in
training and competition.
In the rare case that we have more players than needed for a weekend game, we will communicate in advance which players
are active and which will sit out.
Additionally, we will explore opportunities for those sitting out to support older teams if those teams have low numbers, ensuring that all players have the chance
to participate in games each weekend.
The player fee is $650, which covers field rentals, coaching fees, player registration fees, referee costs, jerseys, and administrative expenses.
This fee does not include travel-related expenses, such as transportation, lodging, and meals.
Teams that qualify for Nationals will incur additional costs to cover travel, hotel accommodations, and other related expenses of the December competition.
